Statement from Deirdre Lawrence Kittner, PhD, MPH, Director, CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health, on the passing of Becky Herner, Tips From Former Smokers® participant

It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of Becky Herner, a participant in CDC’s <em>Tips From Former Smokers^® </em>(<em>Tips^®</em>) campaign. Becky, a devoted mother, friend, and champion of anti-tobacco efforts, encouraged people who smoke to quit and others never to start.
